Coloring Your World with Kim Hassold

When I asked Kim Hassold about the art in her own home, it wasn’t surprising to hear “it’s large and colorful,” which is precisely how Kim, the artist paints.  “Color My World” is a new collection of paintings inspired by Kim’s passion for color and the strong desire to push those colors to a whole new level. Collaborating Artists

Collaborating Artists

Maybe it’s my corporate background that drives this never-ending desire to collaborate – the whole concept of what two or more can do that one cannot do alone.  Brainstorming and problem solving is fun!  My recent collaboration with Once Again Sam’s, Sarah Mandell has been delightful and has stretched us both in directions we never saw coming. Horses of Vieques by Melinda Hoffman

A & L’s newbie artist,  Melinda Hoffman, is exhibiting an all new series of oil paintings inspired by my own photographs from a family trip to the island of Vieques in January.

Vieques Horse with Mount – oil on canvas, 36×36

The conquistadors of Spain brought their horses by boat…down ramps and onto the islands of Vieques in the 1600’s.  Today, the horses are allowed to roam the island to feed on lush grasses and fresh water.  The Humane Society of Vieques has hundreds of horses along with traditional pets to care for.

Melinda’s Vieques Series is now showing along with new work by Teri Pena, Annalisa Fink, Tammy Miller, Kent Ambler, Diane Kilgore Condon, Kate Landishaw and myself.

For pricing, please contact teresawr@gmail.com or call 864-363-8172

Please join us for an artist reception on Thursday, June 20 (5-8pm)!

Jon Andrews and Kevin Isgett Show Opening Soon!

Jon Andrews and Kevin Isgett Show Opening Soon!

Almost November greetings friends and collectors!  An art teacher friend told me about a recent class where she was teaching her 7th graders the difference between abstract and non-representational art.  She made a power point that gave examples of both and had a hearty discussion on the differences of each, which ultimately led to a discussion on aesthetics, who likes what kind of art, and finally, what makes something art.  She mused how kids love to debate what makes art good, bad, worthy, etc.  She concluded that although she loves teaching these lessons, all the kids really want to do is get their hands dirty.
